Rebuilding the Tower of Babel and other confusing stuff

And there it is, right in the middle of Wrangler Jean, steel toed boots and plaid shirt wearin’ redneck America, complete and utter stupidity that I wouldn’t have imagined anyone of us tolerating. There’s a pride flag hanging up in a Calhoun County, West Virginia classroom, teachers are permitted to add to their approved curriculum, unapproved ideologies and parents do not have to be made aware of any of it. It was rumored this week on social media (and it was nothing but a rumor) that litter boxes were being placed in the school bathrooms for the children who identify as furry’s to have a place to potty. As ridiculous as that sounds, the fact that there were people who didn’t hesitate to believe it, tells you the state of our community. And why would that shock anyone of us who have watched public schools turn from “safe spaces” for our children to “safe spaces for the morally bankrupt.”

What does that have to do with the Tower of Babel. Plenty. Just hold on while I see if God connects the dots for me like I thought He would when this thought crossed my mind this morning after hearing a good teacher confess her frustration when a student informed her that she had not ask them what their pronouns were before addressing them in class. The teacher politely said to the child “Oh, my apologies, what is your pronouns?” To which the student replied, “Banana and rock.” The teacher was pretty sure the kid was just messing with her, but because of their new policies, she had to refer to this child every time she spoke to them or about them as a banana and a rock. I would not have been brave enough as a child to pull that kind of stunt, but I can tell you of classmates who would have jumped at the opportunity to disrupt class in such a way. Many of them would have been FFA students…you know… future felons of America. Others would have been our classmates we relied on for comedic relief. And then those like me who wouldn’t have done it, but would have lost myself in snickering and got nothing out of class. Is it any wonder we can no longer compete with other countries with intellect? Do you suppose China or Russia would allow that behavior in their schools.

No, because they are too busy educating their children, while our children un-educate their teachers.

Okay, my rant is over, now let’s get on to the Word of God!

Genesis 11:1-8 KJV
[1] And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. [2] And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. [3] And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. [4] And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. [5] And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. [6] And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. [8] So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

My Whole World

That’s how I would describe my family to you. That’s how my parents treated me and my siblings. We were their whole world. And that’s how God described His family, His whole world. He had created them, made them in the likeness of Him, provided them a land to dwell in with food and shelter and all He asked in return was that they keep Him in His rightful place in their lives. That’s no less than I expected of my children. My proper place in their lives is where ever God wants me to be at any given time in their life. When they were little children, I was their protector and caregiver, as an adult, I stand beside them and help when ask, But God is not an earthly parent, He is the God of Heaven and Earth, and His place is over mankind. As a whole, not in part. So what was He to do with a changing world that no longer acknowledge Him.

Mine, Mine Mine!

Was that not their attitude? “Let us make brick, we’ll make a tower, we’ll reach heaven, we’ll be our own god.” The children were no longer listening to God, they were making their rules up as they went. And God watched and then He acted.

God’s watching America too. He’s see’s our nation making their own rules, being their own god’s, not acknowledging Him or asking Him for direction. His response for His children then was to confound their language. In the words of Pastor Alfred Hickman, “Hello?” Is it not the same now. If you don’t believe me, listen to this young lady? Describe herself in the YouTube video:

During Old Testament Times God’s judgment was pointed and quick. It was not up for debate. When He heard His children’s language unbefitting a child of God, and filled with plots against Him, his judgement was to confuse them with multiple language until nobody could communicate.

Now look at our world. Filled with unappreciative, self glorifying people, who don’t even know what gender they are. Rule? There are no rules now. Rules hurt little feelings and hurt little feeling might have to face reality and we can’t have that.

I don’t believe God’s pouring judgement out on America, I think He’s just letting us confound ourselves. He doesn’t have to create new language, Xem people have already done it, or perhaps it was xyr people who did it. None the less we are living in a chaotic society where sanity has left the building.

What’s the answer? Refuse to conform and pray like mad.

Paul said in Romans 12:2 KJV
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Do you know what the will of God is for your life? It may not be what you think. Scripture says this:

Ephesians 1:9-10 KJV
[9] Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: [10] That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

What happens at this time is not as important as what happens at the end of time. When God gathers both Heaven and Earth together. God will is for you and I to be there. That’s the most important thing in our lives is that we have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s not whether or not we have a certain job, car, spouse, what ever it is in this life that you have going on, the question that matters most is are you saved? Nothing else. Woah… that good stuff.

If you don’t know that you know the Lord Jesus, message me, call me, or find someone who can tell you. Love you. Mean it. Want you in eternity with me.

How to live a life that’s Pleasing to God

I sang at the Long Term Care Unit in Grantsville on Monday, and it was such a privilege. To sit across from them once again and sing and converse, which had all but stopped in the Covid era, and should now not be taken for granted. We are called to minister to the sick and aged, and the church as a whole is failing them. Collectively we fail the young and old. We fail to disciple the young, minister to the aged and encourage all others. O’boy. That’s not very encouraging is it. Please hang on, I promise I’ll get there.

How’s Your Walk?

Paul told the Church in Colossians 1:10-29 KJV
[10] That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

Worthiness is not something that I often feel. It’s a good thing my worthiness is not dependent upon my performance, but rather my standing in Christ. My standing is the fact that I am saved by the blood of Jesus, no more no less. But do I please Him with my walk? That’s a good question. When I think of walking with the Lord, that’s an action outside the church building. Are we being fruitful in good work outside of the building? I know in my own life that gets so busy with earthly minded things, the Kingdom of God isn’t high on my list of priorities. Just being real. Ridgeview News is wonderful, I absolutely love it, but it has taken it’s toll on my time with God and my work for God. My walk’s a little lame.

How’s Your Praise?

[12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: [14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

I had not had a serious praise session with Jesus until I attended “David” in Lancaster, PA. When I say serious praise, I speak of a hand raising, tear streaming, glory to God moment. That makes me very sad. Those sessions have never been every day, but they used to be far more frequent that of recent times. The reason? There’s several. But for certain I need praise in my life with Christ and to Christ. Should we not take the time to praise Him when we think on what He has saved us from and “translate us to?”

Twice the word translate is written in scripture. Here in Colossians and again in Hebrews when the writer speaks of Enoch: “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and was not found, because God had translated him for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

Wait…? God took him home because he pleased God by the way he walked? Interesting, is it not? I guess I know why I’ve not disappeared. Enoch was translated; taken into the very presence of God because his testimony pleased God. A portion of our testimony has got to be praising God for His deliverance of our souls out of the hand of the demonic forces of Satan on this earth, and into the Heavenly Kingdom where He awaits our arrival. We have reason to rejoice friends. We need a good praise and worship time in our life!

How’s Your Purpose?

[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. [19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;[20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconcile [22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [23] If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

That’s a chunk of scripture to swallow at one time, but every time I went to end what I would use here, I could not for it would change the meaning of what I needed to say for God’s glory.

When I ask myself “how’s your purpose?” It stings. I’ve always known, even as a child, that I had purpose. That sound arrogant and believe me there’s nothing but humility in the statement. But as early as nine, I recall conversations with God, though at the time I only knew enough to be dangerous. Now I only know enough to be slightly less than dangerous. But I knew God had a purpose for me in this world and I knew it was to speak and write. I did not know how, but I knew it to be the case. So when I think about how God got me to where I am today, I realize that I do not take that role near serious enough. I was created for God’s purpose. You were created for God’s purpose. Are we walking in it in a way that pleases God? That is the question of the day. I can answer for myself with a firm “No.”

I need to do better.

How’s Your Confidence?

Paul had great confidence that God had set him aside with a purpose so mighty that the was willing to walk away from the life he lived and die for the life Christ gave him.

[24] Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: [25] Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; [26] Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: [27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: [28] Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: [29] Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Paul had such confidence in what Christ was doing in him and through him. He knew he was called to the Gentiles. To deliver a mystery to the church. Who doesn’t love a good mystery? But what’s even better than the mystery, is being the one that that is given the answer to it! that’s us! God has given us the answer to the great mystery among the Gentiles, in that we are a people of purpose. Just as the Jews had purpose as God’s chosen, and will again. We have purpose now on this earth to lead souls to the almighty knowledge of God, given to us through the word of God. Oh glory!!!!

For me today that’s such a reason to rejoice. That in these fingers, in this tiny house, in this tiny State, God gave me a purpose for the massive Kingdom. And that purpose is to encourage the believers. Glory! I pray I’ve done that for you, because this word has certainly encouraged my own soul today.

The End is the Beginning of a Great Life!

As I read Romans 10, Paul’s words pierced my heart for my family. Those are the first people that came into my mind when I read “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.” It’s such a simple statement, yet such a hard task to accomplish. Such a simple process, yet it seems the most difficult decision. That was Paul’s desire, yet his ministry ended up not being to the Jews, but to the Gentiles. And what an impact he made there! What can I glean from Paul’s words to make my life more productive for the Kingdom?

The End of What you Know

Romans 10:1-21 KJV
[1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. [2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

I have people that are so stinkin’ smart, they’re too smart for their own good. They assume they’ve got life figured out. They make more money than I can dream of, have all the “things” that supposedly make their life complete, and yet eternity is nowhere in their scope of concern. They’re good people, or so they think, they don’t realize that their goodness does not enter into the equation of salvation. The same was true with Israel. They thought their goodness was enough, they’re name as God’s chosen was enough. But it was not. They had not submitted themselves to the understanding that they would never be good enough to go to Heaven. There wasn’t enough righteousness in their entire family combined to go to Heaven. It is only through what Christ did on the cross that one can be saved. Their self made theology fills the world today, they need to get out of their own head, and into the mindset of God.

The End of the Law

[4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. [5] For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. [6] But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above : ) [7] Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) [8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Moses said if you think you’re good enough to get to Heaven, you’ll line your life up by the law. All 613 of them and stand before God without failure. Can you do it? I can’t live without breaking one of the Ten Commandments. There is no way under the sun that I can live without breaking 613. Nor can anyone else. That’s why Christ had to go to the cross to pay the penalty of sin for every single man and woman on earth. Because there are none good enough. It is believing by faith in Christ and that work on the cross that allows you to enter in. It is His righteousness, the One who never sinned and was the only worthy sacrifice for man kind. The end of the law is your beginning of faith.

The End of the Difference

[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Paul’s desire was that Israel, his Nation of people was saved. He had been a man of the law, serving in the highest of office in their religion, calling men and women out for being Christian and even killing them. No one had lived any more zealous than he had lived for the Lord and was wrong. He had walked by the letter of the law as a Jew, God’s chosen, but now he understood that it was for nought. He too was now saved, not by what he’d done, but because he believed. He believed because he had a personal experience with coming to know Christ as His Savior. “Christ ask him on the road to Damascus

Acts 9:5 KJV
[5] And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Pricks (goads) was an instrument used to guide livestock. The guiding principals that Paul had lived by were no longer in play. He would have to walk a whole new way, and believe in what he had fought against. Is this not what has to happen to each one of us as we come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Suddenly, we realize that there is no difference in us than anyone else. We’re all sinners. Even the vilest of people that we loath is as good as we are. The Jews lived by their zealous righteousness, that they were above the Gentiles, all other people. But because of God’s grace, he took the difference out of the equation. Everyone stands even at the cross, and it is only those who kneel to it that can be viewed as worthy through the blood Christ shed for them.

The End of Excuses

[14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? [15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

For many in my family and yours too likely, there’s 101 reasons not to go to church on Sunday morning. This is the greatest of tragedies for the people of God. Many of them may be saved, Christ does not say, “Thou shall go to church.” But while we are no longer under the law, the law is not void. We’re forgiven, but we’re not excused to sin. As a Baptist it’s often said of us that we can do on Monday, what we say is wrong on Sunday and be okay. No… that’s not how grace works. While grace offers forgiveness, if you are a child of God, you’re not excused to live without accountability. There are consequences for stupidity. And one of the stupidest things God’s people and the unsaved do, is their thinking that they don’t need church.

Church is one of the greatest gifts that God gave His people. It is there we build our relationship and understanding of the word of God that allows us to live in peace. The very thing that everyone desires, and few have. They don’t have it because they have no relationship with God or His people. Victory Baptist Church did not save me, Christ did that, but it for certain has shaped me into who I am and has afforded me a peace that I never knew prior to salvation. By attending church I receive the word of God from the man of God. I have friends that lift me up in prayer and give me opportunity to do the same for them. I have the sweetest fellowship that is not in the world. You may have friends… but not friends like those in the Lord. As a child of God I have the desire to be in His House, in His word and with His people. He puts that desire in everyone of His children and we are without excuse for not following it.

[16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? [17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. [18] But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. [19] But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. [20] But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. [21] But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

God knocks on the heart of everyone and asks them to believe in what He’s done. He’s stretched out His arms to a world begging for love and peace and offered it to them, but they’ve rejected it, both Jew and Gentile. It’s not easy to be humble. But it is so worth what you receive in exchange. There’s no excuse for not being saved. You have the opportunity today if you’ve read my blog. I’ve written it in love, in hopes of new kinfolk. Let me know if you’d like to join the family of God, I’d love to share with you how you can be apart of His life giving, love feeling, peace knowing family.

Hating Sin is Not Prejudice, It’s Biblical

Being raised in a Christian home with sweet parents who chastised the hurting of feelings or sarcasm that is spoken today (in my home as well) it’s not easy being an outspoken child of God. My upbringing tells me to “shush,” while my heart says “line that heathen out!” and the Spirit of God says, “Woah Shari… speak My words, not your own.” God’s words are not spoken in hate, they’re spoken in love. And hating sin, is not hating the sinner. We are all sinners.

So what’s a gal to do when the “Pride” of America is continually in your face with an ungodly agenda that is aimed at children. Be not deceived, the LBGTQ etc, etc, etc, does not care about my or your opinion, their focus is on our children. The group of video clip images that I put together below is from a video the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus put on YouTube last year. The clips are the lyrics of a song where they unashamedly make their agenda known. There is no doubt they will tell you this video was mean to fight the discrimination of their lifestyles and choices, which is true, but it takes nothing away from the meaning of the lyrics.

If the lyrics are not plain, they read like this:
  • You think that we’ll corrupt your kids
  • If our agenda goes unchecked
  • Funny, Just this once
  • you’re correct.
  • We’ll convert your children
  • Happens bit by bit
  • Quietly and subtly
  • And you will barely notice it.

If you think that agenda is only in California you would be deceived. It flows all the way to Calhoun County, West Virginia, I have witnessed it first hand myself. It’s extremely scary and it’s why mid June, (gay pride month) I’m ready to puke at the site of a symbol that still belongs to God although they’ve hijacked it temporarily. 🌈

The church, no denomination, but the body of Christ, has got to stand up and protect our kids. If a snake was creeping through the grass to attack your children, you’d take the steps necessary to stop the threat. This is no different. The agenda of the current political leftist and organizations as mentioned before is to confuse our children, and we’re allowing it to happen in a place that’s supposed to be educating them for the good. Everything from children’s stories to high school curriculum is now inundated with language meant to cause children to question creation.

Be not Deceived, Nor Ashamed

Paul said in Romans 1

1:16-32 KJV
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. [17] For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Just as my parents tried to teach me to be still, not speak out of turn, and to never say anything that would hurt people’s feelings, the world now tells me the same thing for a different reason. God made everyone different, red, yellow, black and white and now rainbow, furries and every alphabet letter under the sun and all are “acceptable” and should be embraced as truth according to society. My grandsons jokingly spoke of the litter boxes that would soon be placed in their school to accommodate the “furries” (children who identify as animals) and again my stomach rolls over. I know their joking, but this is happening in America where children are permitted to behave as animals and disrupt classes without discipline, because it will hurt their little feeling This has happened because people who know God, and those who don’t but have at least common sense, have failed to open their mouths and say “enough.”

Be not Dumb, Nor Accepting

[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

There is a fear that is instilled in the heart of man from birth. I believe it because I’ve felt it. As an unsaved child I knew there was a God. I knew I would stand before Him some day and I feared that day because, at that time, I had not gotten right with Him by accepting the sacrifice His Son made for me. Praise God, of all the evil I allowed myself to be exposed to, none of it took over my soul’s ability to discern right from wrong even though I didn’t always listen. But there comes a time where the scripture says that God gives them over to a reprobate mind and stops convicting them of their wickedness and they completely embrace it. Which is what has happened all across our country. Am I saying that they cannot be saved? No. That’s between them and God. But i can tell you the longer they accept wrong as right, they’ll be confused about it all.

Be not Defiled, nor Accused

I have countless Christian friends, and praise God the vast majority of them are wise and unaffected by the world’s viewpoint. But there are others, who do not fall into that category. I’ve struggled myself at times, because I want to be nice. I don’t want to tell someone they’re wrong. It might hurt their feelings and my Mother would give me that look. But it’s been a while since I’ve worried about that. Listen to Paul’s words in the upcoming verses.

[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. [24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: [25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. [26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: [27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. [28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; [29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, [30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, [31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: [32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Is there any doubt what God thinks of homosexuality and the other nonsense going on in the sexually immoral world we live in? No. It’s clear as crystal and right as rain. And yet there are good Christian people who say they don’t know what the Bible says about homosexuality and believes that God is “okay” with it.

Is He okay with it when He says that behavior is worthy of death? And do you want your children or grandchildren or nieces and nephews, or friends standing in the judgment of God because you did not take a stand against sin? I’m asking me as well. I told you that I struggle with being “nice.” But I have determined in my heart that this battle against my grandchildren is as real as the one between Russia and Ukraine.

I had a preacher’s child tell me not long ago that Jesus said nothing about homosexuality. It broke my heart. I knew they were raised to know different, but the world had gotten their claws into this child’s soul and wasn’t going to let go easily. If you have children in your life… get on some armor from the word of God. You’re going to need it.

Is it Biblical to Act a Little Salty?

What exactly does “acting a little salty mean” by the worlds standards. It is perhaps the act of being upset, angry, or bitter possibly for being made fun of or embarrassed. It’s also a characteristic of a person who feels out of place, misunderstood or not accepted. Have you ever been salty? You probably have, so let’s take a closer look at the word, through a biblical lens not that of the world.

On my mind of late has been the frustration as I keep witnessing the constant mockery of God. I can’t help but wish (in the flesh of course) that a lightening bolt would jar some quick sense into people. But God is so much more patient than I. But for how long? And how does He expect me to react toward a vile world? Good question right?

In the book of Luke, Jesus has just had dinner with the Pharisees, and it says in

Luke 14:25a KJV
[25] And there went great multitudes with him:.

So He’s now left the dinner table and likely the multitudes that followed Him were a multitude of types of people, both Jew and Gentile. And he’s speaking to them in parables and stories to help them better understand what He means. That’s the difference between Jesus and the religious. The religious want you to view them as “smart,” Jesus wants you to understand. He wants you to understand so that you can then take His Word out into a lost and dying world and draw them to His saving grace. But the world doesn’t want it. They’d rather live like that religious tribe in Jesus’ day, mocking Him and pretending that they’ve got it all together when God knows their one tragedy from falling completely apart.

Saliva, Blood, and Urine Detection Times for Drug Metabolites

It is crucial to understand the detection times for different drug metabolites in various testing methods. Saliva, blood, and urine tests are commonly used to detect the presence of drugs in an individual’s system. Each of these methods has its own advantages and limitations.

Saliva Tests: Effective for Recent Drug Use

Saliva tests are often considered more effective than urine or blood tests. This is because drugs and their metabolites can be detected in oral fluid shortly after consumption. The detection window for saliva tests varies depending on the specific drug metabolite being tested my site ndtv.com/.

For example, cannabis metabolites can typically be detected in saliva within a few hours after use and up to 24-48 hours in some cases. On the other hand, cocaine metabolites may only be detectable in saliva for a shorter period of time, usually around 1-2 days. It’s important to note that these detection times can vary based on factors such as frequency of use, dosage, and individual metabolism.

Saliva tests are commonly performed using a mouth swab or oral fluid collection device. These non-invasive tests are convenient and provide quick results, making them popular for workplace drug testing or roadside screenings.

Understanding Urine Detection Times

Urine tests are one of the most common methods used for drug screening due to their wide availability and longer detection window compared to saliva tests. Different drug metabolites have varying detection times in urine.

For instance, cannabis metabolites can be detected in urine for up to 30 days or even longer in heavy users. However, occasional users may test positive for cannabis metabolites only within a few days after use. Other substances like methamphetamine (meth) can also be detected in urine for several days, while cocaine metabolites are typically detectable for 2-3 days.

It’s important to keep in mind that urine tests can yield positive results even after the drug’s effects have worn off. This is because drug metabolites remain in the body for a longer period of time, even when the psychoactive effects of the drugs have subsided.

Blood Tests: Detecting Recent Drug Use

Blood tests are considered highly accurate and can provide detailed information about recent drug use. However, they are less commonly used for routine drug screening due to their invasive nature and higher cost compared to saliva or urine tests.

The detection times for drug metabolites in blood can vary depending on factors such as the type of substance used and individual metabolism. For example, cocaine metabolites can be detected in blood within hours after use and up to 2-3 days. Methamphetamine may also be detectable in blood for a similar duration.

Blood tests are often preferred when there is a need to determine impairment or investigate recent drug use. They are commonly used in forensic settings or post-accident investigations where it is crucial to establish whether an individual was under the influence at a specific time.

My text today is from the same chapter, just a few verses down in Luke 14:28-35

[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it ? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. [31] Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? [32] Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. [33] So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. [34] Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? [35] It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The Mockery Begins

Jesus is speaking of an unfinished work. The person in the story has begun to build a tower but can’t finish it because the money runs dry. Who can’t identify with that, especially in our current economy? An unplanned work is a failing work.

He then speaks of a King going to war, but before he goes to war he does some reconnaissance work to determine if the war should even take place. An unplanned war is a losing war.

While both of these are matters of life, they are not of the greatest concern of the Lord. That tower will eventually fall, and the war, whether it is won or lost matters not in the scope of eternity. But for those of us who say we serve the Lord are we prepared for what the Lord asks of us? And for those who aren’t, is that the cause of the mockery?

Jesus likens it to salt that’s lost its savour, no taste, nothing worthy of using. I fear that is a description of the local church.

Duration of Semenax’s Effects on Male Health

How long can you expect the effects of Semenax to last?

Many men wonder how long they can expect the effects to last. While individual experiences may vary, understanding the general duration of Semenax’s effects can help set realistic expectations. Let’s delve into this topic and explore the factors that influence how long Semenax works.

Continuous use: Is it necessary for maintaining desired results?

One common question that arises is whether continuous use of Semenax is necessary to maintain desired results. The answer depends on individual goals and preferences. Some men find that using Semenax consistently over an extended period enhances their overall sexual health and performance. Others may choose to take a break from supplementation after achieving their desired outcomes.

It’s worth noting that while discontinuing the use of Semenax won’t reverse its benefits immediately, gradually, its effects may diminish over time. To sustain the desired results, some individuals prefer incorporating regular usage as part of their routine. Ultimately, it boils down to personal preference and goals.

Individual variations in response time

Just as every person is unique, response times to Semenax supplementation can also vary significantly among individuals. While some men may experience noticeable improvements in a relatively short period, others might require more time before observing significant changes.

Factors such as metabolism, lifestyle choices, overall health status, and genetic makeup contribute to these variations in response time. It’s important not to compare your progress with others but rather focus on your own journey with Semenax.

Influential factors affecting duration of effects

Several factors come into play when considering how long the effects of using Semenax will last:

Dosage: The recommended dosage plays a crucial role in determining the duration of effects. Following the suggested guidelines ensures optimal results.

Consistency: Regular and consistent use of Semenax can maximize its benefits. Sticking to a routine helps maintain the desired effects over an extended period.

Overall health: A person’s overall health, including physical fitness and lifestyle choices, can impact how long Semenax’s effects last. Leading a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and exercise can contribute to better results.

Metabolism: Individual variations in metabolism affect how quickly the body processes and utilizes the ingredients in Semenax. This, in turn, influences the duration of its effects.

By considering these factors, individuals can gain a better understanding of how long they may expect the effects of Semenax to last based on their unique circumstances.

Long-term benefits associated with consistent use

Apart from short-term effects, there is also evidence suggesting potential long-term benefits associated with consistent use of Semenax. While more research is needed to establish conclusive findings, some men report improved sexual function, increased fertility potential, and enhanced overall sexual well-being through prolonged usage.

It’s important to note that individual experiences may vary. However, maintaining a healthy lifestyle alongside regular supplementation might contribute positively to achieving sustained improvements in male sexual health.

Ingredients in Semenax and Their Impact on Male Health

Key Ingredients Found in Semenax

Semenax is a male enhancement supplement that aims to improve various aspects of male reproductive health, including semen production. The effectiveness of Semenax can be attributed to its carefully selected ingredients, each with their unique contributions. Let’s take a closer look at some of the core ingredients found in Semenax and how they impact male health.

Maca Root: A Natural Wonder

One of the key ingredients in Semenax is maca root, a plant native to the Peruvian Andes. Maca root has been used for centuries as an aphrodisiac and fertility enhancer. It is believed to stimulate the production of hormones related to sexual function, such as testosterone and estrogen. By promoting hormonal balance, maca root may help increase semen volume and improve sperm quality.

Pumpkin Seed: Nutrient Powerhouse

Pumpkin seed extract is another ingredient that plays a vital role in Semenax’s formula. These tiny seeds are packed with essential nutrients like zinc, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Zinc, in particular, is crucial for healthy sperm production and overall male reproductive health. It supports the development of sperm cells and helps maintain optimal testosterone levels.

The Science Behind the Selected Ingredients

To understand how these individual ingredients contribute to the effectiveness of Semenax, it’s important to delve into their scientific mechanisms. Maca root contains bioactive compounds called macamides and macaenes that have shown potential benefits for sexual function by acting on specific receptors in the brain associated with libido and fertility.

Similarly, pumpkin seeds contain high levels of antioxidants that protect sperm cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Pumpkin seed extract has been found to enhance blood flow to the genital area, promoting healthier erections and supporting overall sexual performance.

Research Supporting Ingredient Use

The use of these ingredients in Semenax is not arbitrary; it is backed by scientific research. Numerous studies have investigated the effects of maca root on male sexual health, with promising results. For example, a study published in the journal Andrologia found that maca supplementation significantly increased semen volume and sperm count in healthy men.

Similarly, research on pumpkin seed extract has highlighted its potential benefits for prostate health and male fertility. A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food showed that pumpkin seed oil improved symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that can affect semen quality and overall reproductive function.

Interactions and Contraindications

When considering any supplement, it’s essential to be aware of potential interactions or contraindications with specific ingredients. While Semenax contains natural ingredients, it’s always wise to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new dietary supplement regimen. This is especially important if you have pre-existing medical conditions or are taking medications that may interact with the ingredients in Semenax.

Enhancing Male Reproductive Health with Semenax

Semenax combines the power of natural ingredients like maca root and pumpkin seed extract to support male reproductive health. These carefully selected ingredients work synergistically to promote optimal semen production, improve sperm quality, and enhance overall sexual performance.

By incorporating Semenax into your routine, you may experience an increase in semen volume, improved fertility markers, and enhanced sexual satisfaction. However, as with any dietary supplement, individual results may vary. It’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional before adding any new supplement to your daily regimen.

There is an expectation from the Lord regarding His servants. Much like the local festivals going on in our part of the world right now, it’s an honor when people are chosen to represent those organizations as Kings and Queens with all the pomp and circumstance of the affair. But here we are as the body of Almighty God, treating our position like that of a peasant. We’ve lost our flavor and we’ve left a bad taste in the mouth of the world and the worst part of all, a bad taste in the mouth our Lord. When He says he would “spew” them out in the book of Revelation it was likely because of the worthless flavor of the church. There was no spice!

What bout now? I heard someone suggest yesterday, that when we go to a church we should ask them, “When you hear the word evangelism, who is the person that comes to mind in your church.” He said he was at a church of 2,000 people and when he asked that questions they gave him the name of one person. That’s a sad indictment against that church, but is it any better in our own? I am blessed to say that we do have people that come to my mind when I hear the word evangelize, but not near enough.

So my food for thought for both you and I is “are you salty.” When you’re in the world do your words add salt to wounds of a hurting world. We have what will heal them. But are we using it? I’m not asking only for a friend, I’m asking for me. Am I using what God gave me to heal the broken world…

Is God in to Aromatherapy?

A recent personal quest of my own to learn more about oils from a biblical perspective brought me to one of the first mentions in scripture in the book of Exodus Chapter 25. It was actually the third mention of oil, but the other mentions were of Jacob pouring the oil on a stone

Exodus 25:6 (KJV) says  Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,

The oil was apart of an instruction from God for a free will offering towards various things for the worship and service of God. Acceptable things that were to be used in offerings. Since the dessert of Arabia could not furnish the oils, it is assumed that the oils were with them when they left Egypt, and would have been treasured substances. I thought about the treasured substances in my own life. Not oils… at least not yet. For I only have a few; but what is treasured in my life is the gift of the Holy Spirit. What a privilege and treasure to have within me the very presence of God.

Moses traveled upon  the mount of Sinai alone, leaving the people of God below to watch the cloud surround the mountain. Moses alone for forty days and forty nights as the people watched. Praise God we live in a different time. I’m not much of an observer, I am for certain a participator. I have always wanted to be right in the thick of anything going on and to set idle in the balcony of life while others are participants is very difficult on me. I’m not sure why I was born so nosey, but I was.

I found it interesting that when it came to God’s request for the oils, there were (as so often in scripture) a three fold purpose. “Light, Anointing and Sweet Incense.”

Glory to God for the Oil in the Lamp

When I think of “lamp oil.” I think of a kerosene lamp of modern day. Probably nothing compared to the ancient lanterns. But they served the purpose of light. I’ve only experienced the pitch black of night a few times, where there was no source of light coming from anything and it’s not something I would be comfortable with for long. It makes e appreciate the lamps that surround me in my home that I can turn on even during the day and make more light!  But nothing is comparable to the Light of Jesus Christ in my life.

Jesus says in John 12:46

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

God never intends His children to live in darkness. Even if it’s dark. The fear that I used to feel in the darkness (which I still necessarily don’t like) isn’t what it was. While I have human emotions and fears, they are subsided by the Spirit of Light that lives within me. I am never alone, even in dark times.  Glory to God for the oil!

Glory to God for the Oil of Anointing

I’m learning more and more about my little box of oils that I received in the mail. One of the first things I did was downloaded to Kindle, three books on Oils of the Bible. I dove in head first to learn why they were so important and are they still? And why do I have a pharmacy in my kitchen? Don’t panic… I’m still going to use my pharmacy until the doc tells me not to, but what are the medicinal purposes of the oil and what are the spiritual?

One of the first oils I used medicinally was Tea Tree Oil. This may be TMI (too much info) for you, but my pinky toe and the one next to it were itching terribly one evening. So I looked up in the oils a treatment for skin issues. Low and behold it called for the use of tea tree oil to be rubbed on the affected area. This itch had been an issue for sometime and I’d used other store  treatments for dry feet, etc to no avail. But I slid off my cow girl boots (which may be part of the issue,) and took a smidge, and I mean just a smidge of the tea tree oil and put on my foot. The itch stopped immediately. I kept waiting for it to come back. It did not.  Who knew!? Is it gone for ever? I doubt it, I have multiple pair of pointed toe boots that I adore; but it’s been a week and no itch. I’ve had a couple of other successful treatments with oil on other pains as they would do it in Pain Clinics, and I’m slowly but surely beginning to believe that there’s something to the oil! I’d imagine that after 40 years in the hot sand, a few of the Israelites likely had itchy feet, but that was not God’s purpose for the oil in the sanctuary.

Oil was used for the anointing of Aaron and his sons in their service to God and the vessels in the tabernacle. Oil was a sacrificial offering likely because of it’s rarity, cost and individual purposes. If oil was important to God, should it not be important to God’s people? I’m not putting more emphasis on oil than needs to be. I’m adding no emphasis toward salvation or brownie points with God because someone uses oil. But the fact that oils had purpose hasn’t changed.

I understand why God did aromatherapy. I’m kiddding…. But when Paul told the Philippians in Philippians 4:18 KJV

[18] But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

This was said in allusion to the sacrifices under the former dispensation, in which God smelled a sweet savour, Genesis 8:21, in reference to which, as the sacrifice of Christ is said to be of a sweet smelling savour, Ephesians 5:2, and as the spiritual sacrifices of the saints, as praises and prayers, are called odours, Revelation 5:8, and are said to be acceptable unto God, 1 Peter 2:5; so acts of beneficence are called sacrifices, with which he is well pleased, Hebrews 13:16.

I believe God does His own version of aromatherapy when the Saints of God are offering sacrifices of praise and service to the Kingdom. By the same token I believe that he also instilled within us a joy from certain type scents. Not everyone likes the same. I don’t generally care for fruity scents, but I love earthy scents. I’m not a fan of hardly any flora scents, but lavender is growing on me from my little Box of goodies.

This study has been good for me today, it brought joy to my soul and I’ll continue my study of the various oils of the bible. I pray you enjoyed it as well. Blessings!!!! From the Jesus Chick.

It’s Spiritually Discerning

I will not say it has been an easy transition to News Publisher. Staying focused on spiritual things is difficult when my focus is on the things of world much of the time. Listening to other news sources, listening to my community, listening to heartaches and struggles, it’s a bit overwhelming at times.

So, with that being said, as I sat in church yesterday and the Spirit was just pouring the blessings down upon me as I listened to the Word of God being taught and preached, I thought about conversations I’d had with God recently. They were random to say the least. I have an ongoing daily conversation with the Lord that is filled with apologies for my failures, goofy prayers over food like “please Lord, let something in this candy bar be nutritious for my body,” and “God, Lucky Charms has 9 essential vitamins and minerals in it, so surely eating it twice a day and sometimes three for meals isn’t bad, and please don’t let the marshmallows kill me.” This is not my finest hour as a child of God or a writer. But it’s what’s on my heart today.

I wonder if the Apostle Paul had a Lucky Charms kind of day when he was making tents? I’m doubting it. Listen to the wisdom in his words to the Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 2:12-14

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. ¶ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The Apostle Paul was God’s News Reporter. He was tasked with the job of listening to the world and discovering their issues, then listening to God for the wisdom of life, and then relaying that message in a manner that could be applied by the people. And that became the Good News that we are gifted today by the Holy Spirit of God through His Bible.

So the reason I speak about the transition to publisher as not being easy, is because I have a rough time shutting out the world and allowing the Spirit to speak to me. I really don’t understand how the unsaved keep their sanity when I struggle with it as a child of God who has my very own 24 hour a day Counselor, Keeper and Friend.

Freely Given Facts

I promised myself and God that when I began www.Ridgeviewnews.com, I would publish only the truth. If it was opinion I would label it as such and I would stand accountable to God for it all. Paul’s words reminded me that the Spirit that is in me is not of this world, and the things that I have been “freely given,” are not received by those who don’t know Christ. There is a discernment that is accessible to every child of God that when we receive information, the Holy Spirit will alert us with what we need to do with that information. But our conversations with God have to be about more than candy bars and lucky charms.

Right now I have a very serious issue with a family member in another country. I have a hard time following news about this country and caring what happens to it’s people. And then I hear the Spirit of God say “look at this group of people in that country. They belong to me, and they care.” And that causes me to care.

I get frustrated with the people in my community because it seems there are many who have their heads stuck in the sand and have no idea of what’s going on around us, and the Spirit reminds me that “Satan is after them, and he has many of them on a line and hook destined for Hell unless a child of God reminds them that they need Christ.” And then God reminds me of the blessed place I’m in that teaches and preaches the gospel and it’s a fact that I am privileged to hear. That wisdom prevents me from falling to the worlds devices. Yes I get side tracked on Lucky Charms and candy bars but the gift that Christ left us of His Holy Spirit is such an amazing valuable possession. It prevents me from falling to the wiles of the Devil that would have me going out into the world unprepared for the wickedness that would destroy the peace in my heart. Another fact that we have as children of God. Peace. And that my friend with the craziness going on in this is worth more than anything this world has to offer.  Satan cannot touch it unless we allow him to. Glory! Thank You Jesus for the Spirit of God that keeps me sane!

Peter’s Zeal, Jabez’ Prayer, Shari’s Opinion

There is no question that I am a person of opinion. If you don’t believe it, ask my husband, he’ll tell you quickly that I have an opinion and have no problem voicing it. So does he, its one thing we both agree on. We have opinions. The world has opinions. Oh… my … stars… do they have opinions. The issue with the world is, they blur the line between opinion and fact. Even in their own head. But there is nothing of “opinion” in scripture. Man can weigh in on it with what he or she believes it to say, but it’s truth none the less. And there is no private interpretation.

2 Peter 1:20 KJV

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Since salvation in 1996 I have taken God’s word for truth. I haven’t always understood it, I have not always taught it correctly, I’m a person subject to error as anyone else is. But I think I’ve always understood that every word that proceedeth out of my mouth is going to be on instant replay in Heaven when I get home and I’m going to have some explainin’ to do if the things I’ve taught and shared with the world don’t align with scripture. I do not want any eternal ramifications for opinion.

Opinion, I believe, is a matter of pride. Too often people form an opinion (which is fine) and then they form an attitude (which is not). That is pride. Those attitudes generally lead to a stronger stance on what your believe is fact that is not always founded in truth.

O’ Lord it’s Hard to Be Humble (circa 1980)

1 Peter 5:6

[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Peter was Jew. He understood the pride of the Nation of Israel as well as he understood the issues with the pride of the individual man. He was zealous! In the book of Luke it says

Luke 6:15 KJV

[15] Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,

Zelotes means “zealot.” It’s one of my favorite things about Peter was his zealousness for all thing in life. But he and I both have something else in common, our zealousness gets us into trouble. I get so excited about something new that I learn that I don’t always study it out before I go off telling people about it. Big mistake! That’s how doctrines’ get messed up. We have to study to show ourselves approved, rightly dividing the word of God. That of course is a paraphrase from 2 Timothy 2:15. Wrong doctrine doesn’t always come from evil people. I’d venture a guess it seldom starts there. It starts with some who has an opinion but didn’t take the time study it out.

When Peter told them to humble themselves that God might exalt them, I think he knew that pride was an issue. People love to be puffed up! I love it when people tell me I’ve done well… I don’t handle it well and get embarrassed for fear they’ll think I’m prideful, but if they knew what was going on inside my head they might know how prideful I can be. If I were more brazen I’d say, “Thanks! I thought it was pretty good myself!” But I can’t. Because I know I’ll probably fall flat on my face at the next attempt to do something “great.”

I can Help, I got two strong arms (Circa 1975)

1 Peter 5 [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Casting my cares on Jesus or anyone else is difficult. Again, it’s a pride issue, but I always think I can handle it, and I usually cannot. It’s my opinion that I can handle it. The Lord knows the truth. When Peter told them to cast their cares upon Jesus, he spoke from experience. As a fisherman he had cast his net all night and caught nothing until he heard this in

John 21:6-7 KJV

[6] And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. [7] Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

Peter was of the opinion that it was a good idea to hang out naked in the boat. Ummm, bad idea! The Lord showed up and caught him in a compromising position. Boy will that preach! That’s exactly what happens when we get in a big way and think we can handle anything by ourselves. It’s a good way to get caught with your pants down.

But when the boys in the boat harkened to the Lord and let their net down on the right side, God assuredly blessed. We have to be on the right side of the Lord. It doesn’t matter what we think is right or wrong, the facts come in studying out the issue within the word of God. The more we read, cross reference and study the word of God, the more truth He reveals. And the greater understanding he gives us that we might share that understanding with other people.

The House of the Rising Sun (1964)

I couldn’t help but think back to a time about 15 years ago. There was a group of us who had diligently gathered at the church every Tuesday morning for prayer at 7 a.m. We did that for years. We were a dedicated group. But one Tuesday morning a fella from the church (left the church shortly thereafter) but this particular morning he stopped by to share some “wisdom he had gotten.” He had been reading the book “The prayer of Jabez.” In a very arrogant manner he began to school us on how we were missing out on the blessing of God because we weren’t living our best life as Jabez had.

This man seldom darkened the door step of the church. His testimony in the community didn’t come close to backing up his Christian proclamations. He was probably an alcoholic and a foul mouthed man at that. But he thought that his opinion was so worthy of sharing that he could teach dedicated believers how to live better. Needless to say it left a bad taste in my mouth. We were all gracious and nodded our heads in politeness as not to offend this brother who thought he was doing right. He was casting his net on the wrong side of the boat!

Pastor Steven taught on that very book for Wednesday night bible study last night. But it had been on my mind for a while. Pastor taught that Jabez knew where he was in the Lord. It was at a time in Israel’s history when they weren’t right in the Lord. They were fishing on the wrong side of the boat as they so often did, thinking they knew better than God and it had gotten them further and further away. So as Jabez prayed he asked

1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV

[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

You can feel the humility in Jabez’ words. He wasn’t speaking in pride or asking God to give him an exclusive blessing for the purpose of wealth and power. He was speaking in favor of his nation. Praying that God would increase their reach. Hello… wouldn’t that be an awesome prayer for us today?

I’m thankful for these thoughts this morning. And this direction in my life that I should be praying that God expand my reach. Not to build up any earthly kingdom, but to build a heavenly Kingdom through souls that I might reach for Christ. Glory! What an awesome thought. Let it be so….

The song titles had nothing to really do with anything, other than they reminded me of where I came from and praise God, where I’m going.

The Truth About Titles

Perhaps it’s a known fact about me, or perhaps it’s little known, but truth none the less, I like titles. I like being acknowledged as a person of purpose. I’ve always wondered about the difference between purpose and passion. Not of stature, because that to me seems arrogant, but I like the fact that in any given organization I have purpose and evident works with outcomes. It is the fabric of who I am. Who God created me to be. So in the study of Paul’s writings, I found it interesting that Thessalonians is the only one that Paul didn’t acknowledge his title of Apostle, or status as servant or prisoner of Christ. He simply listed his name with the others who were with him as he wrote to the church in Thessalonica.

One hundred years ago or less, I worked for the local newspaper in town, the Calhoun Chronicle. It’s a small weekly paper with a circulation of less than 3,000 where I was Advertising Manager. It was my first ever job with an official title and it was one of my fav’s! It was there that I found a passion for publicity that would serve me well throughout the years. The Editor at the time was Merrill Pollack. A retired editor for the New York Times, and to say he was quite the character wouldn’t do him justice! He was also the first boss who treated me as an equal and brought joy into our lives every day with his story telling ability and his vast experience in the media.

Depending upon the tasks of the day, Merrill would retitle us accordingly. If we were going shopping, we were fashion editors, if we were going out to lunch we were food editors, he was so much fun to work with. He shared his vast amount of knowledge with us without any sense of arrogance, but rather exuberance in handing it down to the next generation.

While I’m not sure Paul would have been as crazy as Merrill, I imagine him to have been a zealot and more to share his vast amount of knowledge with others. As Saul he had allowed religious authority to consume him; but as Paul he was just as humbled as he was proud in his previous position. But never lacking confidence! Would to God I was such a one. I lack confidence every day, which may be why titles are important. I guess I’m self diagnosing my psyche.

The first chapter of 1 Thessalonians is packed so full! The Bible never ceases to amaze me how God can use just a few words to express so many important truths.

1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 KJV

[1] Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. [2] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; [3] Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; [4] Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

The lack of a title came with a few concepts from the commentary’s but no real explanation. Just something to take note of. Perhaps it was a either because he was well known by this church, having been lately with them; or lest these young converts should be offended and stumble at any pompous title, which they might imagine carried an appearance of arrogance and pride; or because there were as yet no false apostles among them, who had insinuated anything to the disadvantage of Paul, as in other places, which obliged him to assert his character and magnify his office. We won’t know until we get to Heaven and ask him ourselves, if it ever comes up.

Paul then moves on to the matter at hand that was all important to him, the Lord Jesus Christ. That is his purpose and he gives great thanks that it is their purpose as well. They are laboring in love, and patience of hope in the eyes of God, showing evidence of God’s purpose for having made them of the elect. That too is my focus this morning as I prepare my heart for church.

I have carried the title “Sunday School Teacher,” proudly for 20 years. But over the past few weeks I stepped out of that position and back into the position of student of the word in the adult class. I really, really struggled with that decision. Until yesterday when I realized the great level of peace I had and excitement for being in a class of my own. There is a time to teach, and a time to listen, and this is my time.  I pray that you have that place of learning. It’s important in these troubled times to have a good understanding of the word and what’s going on around us. How does it effect us, and some things that shouldn’t effect us.

I pray today finds you in the Lord’s house, hearing His word and having it stir your soul. Grace and peace to you… from the Lord and Shari, His servant. A title I carry proudly.

What makes me want to Walk

If it were possible to walk off this planet and return, I’d do it multiple times a day. And I think I’d be better for it spiritually. If I could just get away from the insanity we call living I’d be a better person, I’m sure of it. Last night in the children’s program, one of the littles ask me “how old I was?” I quickly replied “59.” To which another child replied, “Wow, our teacher at school won’t ever tell us how old she is.” But I’m proud of the number of years God has given me on this earth. Every year I survive is a trophy, especially after the heart attack. But right now, in this age, I have to say that eternity gets sweeter by the second because I want to lay hands on people just about that often. “

This “me first” society has gotten so out of control that the only way I can see it becoming remotely sane again, is if God does something drastic to cause it. That’s a scary thought. And even then, the reaction to any kind of catastrophic event would likely be “me first” to the point of extinction. Yep, that’s the path my mind is on this morning. I got up at 4 a.m. which is typical, only wasted an hour scrolling social media before getting my heart right and turning to the word of God, which I’m sometimes worse. But my mind still labored to turn off yesterday. There were things people said, frustrations expressed, and the flesh rearing it’s ugly head like the snake it is on multiple occasions. And that was me, I won’t even tell you what other people did. And all the while, I’m trying my best to serve the Lord. I more often than not think of myself as the crumbs in a bag, more so than “all that and a bag of chips.” But I have days that I want to go to heaven, push anyone out of my way that’s between God and I and say, “Excuse me, but it’s my turn!” There’s actually nobody between God and I except the people that I put there all the time when I stress this mess we’re living in. But it would just be so nice if I could walk off the planet, and into the throne room of God and have a conversation with Him face to face and allow Him to restore my sanity that the world sucks out of me.

And then I read this:

Galatians 6:1-9 KJVS
[1] Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
[2] Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
[3] For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
[4] But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
[5] For every man shall bear his own burden.
[6] Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
[7] Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
[8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
[9] And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

So if I Shari quoted that scripture in a way that my mind could really get ahold of it and apply it my life I would say it like this.

(1) Brothers and sisters, if there are stupid people in your presence, and you are saved, try to help them get their lives together and do it without pretending you’re holy, because you are they, if it were it not for God’s grace.
(2) After that, help them where you can, as Christ has done for you as an example.
(3)Do not think you’re all that and bag of chips, you’re the crumbs.
(4)But do what God would have you do,  and don’t worry about what others are doing, or not doing.
(5)You have enough troubles in your own life to keep you busy.
(6)Take care of the people who teach and preach, spiritually and monetarily.
(7) Don’t be so stupid as to think God’s not aware of what’s going on. He’ll take care of both those who do good, and those who don’t.
(8)The “me too” society you’re living in will receive in kind what they’re giving out.
(9) So, don’t try to walk off the planet. In due time, your day will come.

That my friends is some serious liberty taken with the Word of God. But that’s what I felt this morning as I read Galatians 6.

When I say I want to walk off the planet. It’s not from the people I love. Or even the responsibilities that God has given me. Those are good times. But this worldly influence that can make even a good person selfish, and unconscious of their effect on others make me want to go to the highest hill and yell, “Gabrielle, blow the horn!” And you know how I hate to walk! But desperate time call for desperate measures. That is why I’ll continue you on gleaning from every opportunity God allows.
